Why It Matters
A piano isn't just heavy — it's mechanically complex, acoustically sensitive, and often irreplaceable. The wrong approach on a staircase or a tight corner doesn't just scratch the finish. It can damage the soundboard, crack the frame, or destroy decades of tuning.
We've moved over 100 pianos across Cape Cod and SE Massachusetts. Every one taught us something. We know the difference between an upright that'll slide clean and a baby grand that needs to be partially disassembled to make it through a doorway. We know when to slow down.
Upright pianos typically weigh 400–900 lbs. Baby grands start around 500 lbs and go up fast. One wrong shift and someone gets hurt or something gets ruined. We use proper equipment — dollies, straps, and ramps designed specifically for the load.
Cape Cod homes are notorious for tight staircases, narrow doorways, and low ceilings. We assess the route before we touch the instrument. If there's a tricky path, we plan it out — we don't wing it.

The most common move on the Cape. Studios, consoles, and full uprights — vertical pianos that require careful dollying, stair navigation, and doorway assessment. We handle them regularly.
